Objectives of IGNOU MAPC Project at IGNOU MA PSYCHOLOGY level (MPCE 016/MPCE 026/MPCE 036)

Within this framework, Project Work at the M.A. level (MPCE 016/026/036) has specific aims to facilitate a student in:

  • Identify and articulate research issues
  • Compose a comprehensive research proposal.
  • Determine and employ a suitable study design.
  • Execute scientific inquiry methodically.
  • Gather and examine the data
  • Acquire proficiency in the application of suitable statistical techniques.

Preparation of IGNOU MAPC Project Proposal

The students must select a specific topic of interest. Subsequently, in collaboration with the Guide, they must choose a specific theme for their project work. The project proposal outlines the comprehensive tasks that the learner must complete.

The subsequent format may be utilized for the preparation of the project proposal:

  • The Title of the Proposed Project
  • Context of the Research
  • Justification
  • Goals
  • Methodology: Sample, Instruments/Tools, Statistical Analysis to be Employed

Submission and Approval of Project Proposal

  • The student must first develop the project proposal/synopsis and then submit it directly at the Study Centre. Subsequently, the Programme Incharge of the Study Centre will evaluate the submissions and grant approval. If any required alterations are necessary, they will be sent to the learner, who will then resubmit the work to the study center with the necessary adjustments.
  • Furthermore, the project proposal must be submitted on A4 paper, typed in double spacing, and accompanied by a consent letter from the Guide (Appendix II) and the approved proforma (Appendix III).
  • In addition, the learner is urged to save a copy of the synopsis. Moreover, proposals that do not accompany the aforementioned documents will not be eligible for approval. Therefore, kindly submit the proposal prior to the final submission deadline..

STRUCTURE OF THE PROJECT REPORT/DISSERTATION

The length of the project report is contingent upon the project’s thematic character. It is preferable for the project report to consist of approximately 100 pages, typed in double spacing. The report must be formatted on A4-sized paper and bound appropriately.

The report must adhere to the specified format.

  • The initial page of the report must display the project title, candidate’s name, address, enrollment number, and year.

Introduction

This part will delineate the issue. The text should convey the essence of the topic, its origins, and the motivations behind the researcher’s choice to explore it. The introduction must include the reason and objective of the investigation.

Literature Review

Previous researchers compile literature reviews by collecting and summarizing studies from books, journals, and articles. It facilitates the generation of ideas and the formulation of pertinent questions for the research endeavor.

The significance of the study elucidates the rationale for undertaking this specific research.

Objectives/Hypothesis:

This section will primarily outline the principal objectives or aims of the research. To examine the impact of familial environment on pupils’ self-concept.

We present a hypothesis as a provisional assertion regarding the causal link between the independent and dependent variables.

Methodology

Methodology encompasses Sample, Tests/Tools, and Statistical Analysis. The sample’s size and characteristics will be contingent upon the chosen topic. Researchers should choose tests and tools according to the study objectives. They should then analyze the data obtained from these tests/tools using suitable statistical methods.

Results and Discussion

We present the outcomes of the research, following the statistical analysis of the data, in both tabular and graphical formats. We then examine these results in the context of the prevailing research investigations. Finally, we examine the implications of our findings.

Conclusion

In this section, the student must summarize the research findings.

Delimitations

This section outlines the constraints and limits of the research.

Recommendations for further research

In light of the research findings, the learner may propose avenues for additional investigation in the specific domain.

References

References must be formatted according to APA standards. These ought to be arranged in alphabetical order.

Important points to remember during submission

For the Submission of the IGNOU MAPC Project Proposal:

1) Submit a single copy of the Project Proposal and retain an additional copy for your records.

2) MPCE 016/026/036 (as applicable) must be clearly inscribed on the envelope and submitted to the Study Centre.

3) Guarantee the incorporation of the subsequent elements when submitting the proposal:

  • Proforma for the Approval of Project Proposal, filled out and signed by both the learner and the guide or supervisor.
  • Comprehensive bio-data of the supervisor/guide, appropriately signed by them (in instances where the

Submission of IGNOU MAPC Project Report / Dissertation

You must deliver the project report/dissertation in original format on A-4 size paper, typed in double spacing, and bound to the designated study centre.

Furthermore, prior to binding the project report, the student must verify that it includes the following in its original form:

  • Endorsed Project Proposal Template
  • Authorized Project Synopsis
  • Certificate of Authenticity (Appendix IV)

Finally, the learner must keep a copy of the project report, as they will not receive it back.
