Who is eligible to serve as the Guide/Supervisor for the IGNOU DNHE Project Work?
The learner will necessitate a Guide/Supervisor to execute the Project. Consequently, the qualifications for eligibility to serve as a Guide/Supervisor are as follows: Firstly, direct access can be obtained from the Study Centre, Regional Centre, or Maidan Garhi.
Alternatively, the individual must possess an M.Phil/PhD in Nutrition and Health Education, coupled with a minimum of two years of undergraduate or postgraduate teaching experience.
Or, a Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Health Education with at least two years of postgraduate experience may suffice.
Lastly, a Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Health Education accompanied by at least five years of undergraduate teaching experience is also acceptable.
Note:
- The student must provide the summary along with the supervisor’s bio-data, signed by the supervisor (Refer to Appendix-I).
- The student shall submit the summary along with the supervisor’s bio-data, where applicable, at the Study Centre/Regional Centre.
- The Study Centre/Regional Centre shall subsequently forward these synopses to the Discipline of Nutrition and Health Education at IGNOU, New Delhi, for requisite approval.
The Supervisor/Guide will receive compensation for overseeing each project. He/she may request Project Guidance payment utilizing a Pro forma (Appendix-II) following the final submission of the learners’ project/dissertation at the Regional Centre.

If any necessary changes are required, they will be communicated to the student, who will then resubmit it to the study center with the appropriate adaptations.
Moreover, an A4-sized paper containing the project proposal typed in double space should be sent along with the pro forma for approval (Appendix III) and the Guide’s consent letter (Appendix II). Additionally, the student should keep a copy of the synopsis. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to approve proposals that do not accompanied the aforementioned materials.
